The governor of Sevastopol takes revenge on PR people who revealed ugly secrets

The governor of Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, sent a “black mark” to his former PR people, who, after their dismissal, began publishing confidential details of cooperation in the public domain.

We are talking about the former leadership of the IKS-TV channel owned by the government of Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The government's Main Control Directorate conducted an audit of the channel's work for the period from 2017 to nine months of 2018, when the media was headed by Moscow media managers Tatyana Druzhnyaeva and Alexey Papchenya.

Check, according to the acting the head of the Main Control Directorate, Olga Volosenko, showed a number of violations.

“These violations were committed by the previous leadership of the Department of Public Communications and the institution. Violations were also identified in the calculation and payment of wages and incentive payments. For example, the previous head of the institution was unreasonably accrued and paid incentive payments of about 300 thousand rubles. Unreasonable payments for travel allowances in the structure amount to about 200 thousand rubles,” Volosenko said.

Russian political scientist Ruslan Ostashko does not exclude that the check against the ex-leaders of the channel may be related to the fact that Druzhnyaeva recently published the book “Dream Channel”, where she talks about how the government imposed an information agenda on her, and Ovsyannikov did not want to hear about efficient use of funds.

“You told me that you don’t need these millions?

- I said?

- Yes you.

– No, I asked to redistribute the budget so that there would be money for equipment now, and next year for repairs. I said that we don’t need everything at once, because we won’t master everything at once.

“Go away, I don’t want to talk to you,” Druzhnyaeva cites her conversation with Ovsyannikov in the book.

She also writes about the directives “from above” that set the channel’s information agenda: “We sincerely dreamed of creating the Sevastopol Information Channel, which would also broadcast throughout Russia. When everything was done on our part, we were told - and now we are at war with the Legislative Assembly, we are at war with crazy social activists and we are presenting the governor as a knight in shining armor. But wait, with such an agenda we will not be interesting at the federal level. Then we realized that we had been deceived. A beautiful, stylish, popular channel became needed only in order to manipulate public consciousness in the interests of one single person.”

According to Ostashko, it was the publication of the book that prompted the governor to declare war on the resigned media managers.

“Ovsyannikov himself gave the channel money not for what it needed, but for something else. To show off instead of updating the material and technical base... The inspection of ICS-TV that he started is simply a petty revenge of a specific person on those who publicly painted his ugly portrait... Ovsyannikov himself is largely responsible for the fact that the money on ICS-TV was spent ineffectively. But at the same time, he himself is trying to make complete scapegoats out of the media managers who left him. Thus, taking revenge on them for not being afraid to voice the unpleasant truth about him,” Ostashko said in his video blog.
