The governor of Sevastopol did not fulfill his election promise
The governor of Sevastopol did not fulfill his promise to repair school No. 12 in the satellite city of Inkerman by the beginning of the current school year. Dmitry Ovsyannikov promised to do this last fall during his election campaign for the post of head of the region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Sevastopol information portal “Forpost”.
A few days before the elections, Ovsyannikov gave instructions to replace the windows and heating system at the school, update the facade and repair the sports ground.
However, as parents of students reported on social networks, the new academic year at school No. 12 began under renovation conditions. There is dust, dirt in the corridors, bare wires sticking out of the walls. Of the 200 windows, only 60 have been replaced. The first floor has been blocked off, classes have been transferred to the second floor, and children study in two shifts. Only one sports ground has been renovated.
The acting head of the education department, Igor Belozerov, accuses journalists of exaggerating the problem.
“Instead of positively resolving issues, we are all awakening public opinion... There are no terrifying facts there, everything is worthy and decent. Where the work is going on, everything is blocked off. There were three classes studying there, which have now been moved to the third floor. The school has a normal, regular regime - the educational process and repair work do not intersect,” Belozerov said.
School director Oksana Bulgakova confirmed that she had transferred the second grades to the second shift. She clarified that initially there were no plans to repair the corridor, but during the heating replacement, the walls began to collapse.
According to the director, the delay in repairs is due to the fact that the first contractor, the Simferopol company Green Peaks, turned out to be unscrupulous.
“This is the reason for our misadventures. According to the contract, they were supposed to finish the work by August 1, but due to their financial difficulties they did not even manage to finish it by September 1,” Bulgakova explained.
In this regard, the school was forced to invite another contractor to repair the corridor. According to the director, out of 200 windows, for example, 117 have already been replaced.
The builders promise that they will work from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. and will have time to complete all work before the start of the second quarter.
At the same time, students interviewed by Forpost complained of unpleasant odors.
