The governor of Sevastopol told a lie on the federal channel
After the “genocide” of shopping centers in Sevastopol that raged for six months (the city became the Russian champion in closed shopping centers), the situation has improved. Today, only one center remains closed – “Monsoon”.
By a strange coincidence, it is the largest and most popular: the townspeople are waiting for the resumption of work of the popular cinema "Monsoon", an indoor skating rink, an amusement park, a library club "Atrium" and, most importantly, a sports center with dozens of sections in which children and disabled people exercised .
The head of the main department of the consumer market and licensing of Sevastopol, Vadim Kirpichnikov, was unable to answer a question from a viewer on the city TV channel when Monsoon would open.
“Unfortunately, I, the person responsible for city trade, will not be able to answer this question. "Monsoon" was closed due to a lawsuit from the prosecutor's office at the request of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. And as soon as all fire-fighting measures are completed, and this is 120 points, only in this case will a trial be held again, which will decide the fate of Monsoon,” Kirpichnikov said.
The chief trade official of Sevastopol deliberately or accidentally confused the facts. The owner of Monsoon has already eliminated most of the criticism from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the court is considering a claim for demolition of the shopping center not from the prosecutor’s office, but from the city government. Governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov directly stated that Monsoon will not open even if it becomes a model of fire safety.
After some time, the mayor changed his rhetoric, putting forward a strange thesis, behind which a threat can again be heard.
“The owner of Monsoon can begin to operate it at any time at his own peril and risk. But if something happens, there will be criminal liability. We have nothing to do with interference in the operation of the complex,” Ovsyannikov said on the air of the federal channel OTR.
Perhaps journalists would not have asked him about the ill-fated shopping center if viewers had not bombarded them with SMS messages. However, despite the obvious social need for Monsoon, they are not going to open it, and Ovsyannikov told a lie on television.
The Gagarinsky court did not satisfy the request of the owners of Monsoon to open only the second building of the shopping center, where the violations have already been eliminated. Thus, it will be possible to open (if possible) only the entire center.
The owner of Monsoon, Vladimir Plotka, believes that the governor has a personal interest and claims that bribes were extorted from him during inspections. As a result of the Monsoon downtime, about 500 entrepreneurs lost their jobs, some of them are already bankrupt. Despair forced them to turn to the “direct line” to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state personally instructed the governor to look into the situation, but the conflict has not been resolved.
“Monsoon” had a multiplex cinema, an art venue “Atrium”, a children’s entertainment complex with an area of 7000 m3, an ice skating rink with an area of 1700 m3, a bowling alley, a billiards center and a huge sports center where all-Russian competitions were held, and classes in many children’s sections and Invasport groups were free.
Young athletes trained in open areas in the summer, but the Sevastopol climate does not allow this to be done year-round. Over the past summer, due to the closure of the Musson sports center, several all-Russian level competitions had to be moved from Sevastopol.
