Governor of Sevastopol: Turkey is unsafe, but more and more tourists are coming to us
Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo believes that the opening of the Turkish route will not affect the flow of tourists to Crimea, because Turkey is now unsafe, and Crimea is much cheaper. He announced this today to foreign journalists who arrived in Sevastopol.

“Any vacationer goes where there is stability. As an ordinary person, I also want to go where it’s calm. The situation in Turkey is scaring off holidaymakers. Our level of service provision and infrastructure is not the same as in Turkey. It has been developing there for decades, but we are just getting started. But there is interest in Crimea and Sevastopol. The number of holidaymakers visiting us has increased compared to last year. There are vacationers who are satisfied with our conditions. A certain category chooses Crimea simply based on money. And the climate here is excellent,” Menyailo said.
According to him, the number of tourists coming to Sevastopol this year has increased. The city attracts Russians with its rich history. “People come here not only to swim in the sea. Sevastopol is not a resort city, but tourists from other cities of Crimea come here. Here is Chersonese Tauride, monuments of two heroic defenses. The ships of the Black Sea Fleet are also attracted,” Menyailo said.
