Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine: Until August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will experience a shortage of heavy weapons
Despite the supply of foreign weapons to Ukraine, the Ukrainian army will not soon be fully provided with them.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that this was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, answering a question about the influence of Western weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the course of hostilities.
“Let’s put it this way: by August, the amount of weapons supplied to Ukraine will have already acquired, let’s say, significant quantities. You must understand that from the time of the announcement of arms supplies there are the following stages.
The first is the arrival of weapons into the country, the second is the mastery of these weapons, and only at the third stage is the beginning of their use. This all takes a certain period of time.
Therefore, unfortunately, by August the amount of weapons needed by the troops will not be available in significant quantities,” Budanov said in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.
According to him, from August Western weapons will already be in military units and will be actively used in combat operations.
“That is why the turning point will begin. Because now we are catastrophically short of heavy weapons,” summed up the head of Ukrainian military intelligence.
