GUR of Ukraine: “It was not possible to block Russia’s access to world markets”
Russia effectively set up parallel imports and was able to purchase the goods it needed even in the West.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Budanov, it was not possible to completely stop Russia’s access to foreign markets.
“The Russian Federation has a state program, it’s called parallel import. I must admit, it works quite effectively. Parallel import is legalized smuggling at the legislative level.
Yes, components come from many countries, not only, as everyone thinks, from the East - a lot of things come from the West. Unfortunately, no one has been able to completely stop Russians’ access to foreign components,” Budanov said.
