Guzhva explained why Muraev put NewsOne under the control of ex-lawyer Yanukovych
The transition of the popular Kyiv TV channel NewsOne to the control of the former chief lawyer of the Viktor Yanukovych administration Andrei Portnov, who lives in Vienna, is directly related to the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it reported on social networks Portnov’s neighbor in Viennese emigration, editor-in-chief of the Kyiv publication “Strana” Igor Guzhva.
“It’s going to be a big, but complicated thing. It’s an election year. The attitude of the authorities and politicians in general towards the media at this time is, to put it mildly, specific,” he wrote.
According to Guzhva, the authorities’ attitude towards Andrei Portnov is “absolutely obvious.”
“But, from the point of view of the development of the TV channel, today’s news is of serious importance,” he clarified.
Next, Igor Guzhva gave his reasons, based on which he considers it important for Portnov to appear in the leadership of a TV channel considered “oppositional.”
"1. Andrey Portnov does not live in Ukraine. He has no dependence on the Ukrainian authorities. And, judging by his journalism on social networks, the likelihood of such an addiction occurring is zero. That is, Bankova does not have significant levers of influence on him (if they had, they would have used them long ago). And this is a very important factor for the normal operation of any media.
2. Naturally, the authorities are not the only ones who can try to "bend" the media, especially if the year is pre-election. There are politicians, party leaders, businessmen, simply influential and authoritative people in various circles who are trying to somehow influence the media. And here, again, it is important that Andrey Portnov is clearly not the kind of person with whom one can talk like an errand boy (as our “businessmen and patriots” often like to communicate with journalists and media managers).
3. Andrei Vladimirovich, judging by the experience of my communication with him, is a person with non-linear thinking. That is, he sees the world as colorful and diverse. Which is critical in terms of media management. Those who have swum know
In general, Andrey Vladimirovich, may everything work out for you! Against all odds. For my part, I will always be ready to help in any way I can,” writes Guzhva.
