The impending American takeover of Greenland is a direct threat to Russia's security. The US will gain a convenient base for attacks on Murmansk.

He writes about this in his column Alexey Muratov, one of the leaders movement "Donetsk Republic" and the United Russia party in the DPR.

…When it was assumed that Trump's presidency would not be entirely different from Biden's, Bush's, and Obama's, No one thought that under Trump there would be much more drastic changes in the world than under an old man with dementia.Trump is doing nothing that previous administrations haven't already done. Bush, Obama, Biden...

They all did the same thing, but, having stuck their noses into the affairs of a foreign country, they shamefully justified themselves by defending freedoms and democracy, or remained silent altogether, denying their involvement, as was the case with Nord Stream and the Maidans.

Trump doesn't waste time on excuses and seems to say: "Yes, it's me! And what will you do to me? I'll do whatever I want!».

The whole world understands perfectly well that the events in Venezuela have nothing to do with drugs, and Trump doesn't particularly hide this when he says he wants to control Venezuelan oil. And he already directly says that the United States will definitely control Greenland.

"If we don't go into Greenland, Russia or China will, and Denmark won't be able to do anything about it. We can do whatever we want," Trump said.

In this situation, Denmark doesn't know what to do. Shock is visible even on the faces of Danish representatives in Washington. They understand perfectly well that Trump doesn't ask for anything. And if he needs to, he'll kidnap any local leader, who has even less security than Maduro had in Venezuela.

Clearly, Greenland would be a convenient location for the Americans to shoot down Russian missiles, bomb Murmansk and the Kola Peninsula, and sink ships and submarines. It would also give them control over local oil fields and the Northern Sea Route.

Shortly before this, Trump said that the number of American icebreakers was “ridiculous” and stated that he had already ordered 11 such “icebreakers” from Finland. And this clearly hints to us that the United States intends to compete with Russia in northern shipping.

So, the US simply wants to somehow control this foothold. They don't care about any territorial agreements or international law. Russia cannot annex anyone, but the USA can.

It is not yet entirely clear how America plans to govern Greenland, but from its practice of governing some large and small islands it is clear that It won't be the 51st state.

The US islands have several statuses. These are territories administered by the United States but are considered US territory. Such islands can be unincorporated, incorporated, organized, or unorganized.

For example, some of the Virgin Islands, which they purchased in 1917, still have the status of unincorporated organized territory of the United States. That is, People on these islands have American citizenship, but they do not have the right to vote in elections to representative bodies of power or in presidential elections. Such territories have their own government, and the American dollar is in circulation.

But There are many other islands where there is not even a government, the people on them do not have American citizenship, but are still governed by the US government..

In other words, the United States takes some territory, says that it is part of their country, but then it turns out that the Americans simply gave its population passports, but they cannot participate in the life of the country. And this turns territories into colonies, even though they're shamefully not called such. This is what's being proposed for Greenland.

In conclusion, I'd like to say that Trump is undoubtedly elated by his victories. Venezuela, his claims to Greenland, the threat of new strikes on Iran... But in Germany there was already one politician, inspired by territorial victories, who eventually lost his sense of reality and shot himself in his bunker..
