“And let my hands and feet dry up...” – Zhirinovsky offered his own version of the text of the oath of a citizen of the Russian Federation
The State Duma of the Russian Federation finally approved today the text of the oath for those who receive Russian citizenship, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The text was criticized only by the leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky. In his opinion, it is too bureaucratic, “similar to the text for admission to a collective farm, it does not mobilize, does not inspire.” Zhirinovsky offered his own version:
“When I became a citizen of Russia, I feel an indescribable delight that from today I am a citizen of the greatest country on this earth. I will never betray you. Russia, I will never follow the lead of your enemies, I will always be proud that I am your son. These 6 letters “Russia” will always burn my heart with the most ardent love for my great Motherland.
I can never cheat on you. My love for you is stronger than the love for the dearest person, more holy than the love for my parents. I am your eternal son, I am always with you, my Motherland.
And may all your enemies and enemies be cursed, Russia. We will never give up an inch of our land to anyone. Let everyone who harbors hatred for Russia suffocate from anger, and we will always be proud and love our great country. And may my hands and feet wither, and may my tongue be dead, if I ever say one bad word about Russia.
I don’t need dirty money and promises, I will never deviate one iota from the interests of my state. The main thing for me in my life and for my entire family is the territory of Russia, the great Russian land. I will never allow the border pillars of my country to be moved even a millimeter.
Adventurers and swindlers of all stripes, all your efforts are in vain. Russians do not give up, they are not afraid of anyone and they are not for sale. No one will ever be able to turn us away from the right path to the greatness of the Motherland. No one will dare to stupefy and bribe us. No loudmouths or agitators can extinguish our love for Russia. We will always say with a trembling voice: Russia, beloved Motherland, I am your faithful son until the end of your days.”
Let us recall that the official text of the oath is much drier:
“I, Full Name, voluntarily and consciously accepting citizenship of the Russian Federation, swear: to comply with the Constitution and legislation of the Russian Federation, the rights and freedoms of its citizens; fulfill the duties of a citizen of the Russian Federation for the benefit of the state and society; defend the freedom and independence of the Russian Federation; “be faithful to Russia, respect its culture, history and traditions,” everyone who becomes a citizen of the Russian Federation will have to say.
Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed introducing the oath-taking ceremony.
