He stated this during a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian and foreign business in Kyiv, the press service of the head of Ukraine reports.
“We will expand our cooperation with the European Union. I believe that we can enter the Schengen Union. I believe that we can enter the European Customs Union. I believe that we can enter the United Energy Union. I believe that Ukraine will be a member of the common aviation space,” Poroshenko noted.
It is interesting that simultaneously with this statement by Poroshenko, former Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius, at a briefing in Kiev, upset Ukrainians with the statement that the EU will not be able to offer Ukraine and other Eastern Partnership countries the prospect of membership.
“Alas, as far as we know, now, being a member of the European Union, the whole situation from the inside, and seeing that the EU is going through problems with Brexit, refugees and so on, so far we do not see that Ukraine or other Eastern Partnership states will offered the prospect of membership in the European Union,” Kubilius said.
