And then Refat got carried away: Chubarov sees Bakhchisarai as the center of Crimea
Ukraine’s plans for a new territorial redistribution of Crimea are not limited to just the inclusion of Sevastopol in the Bakhchisarai region.
The leader of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov, stated this on the ATR TV channel, giving an assessment corresponding intention Ukrainian government, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Chubarov, the changes must be voted on in the new Constitution of Ukraine.
“While the corresponding changes have not yet been made to the Constitution of Ukraine, we cannot, in the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada, indicate Sevastopol with some changes that are desirable for us. But there is a separate clause that states that subsequently, after the relevant laws are introduced, the status of Sevastopol will be revised.
The city of Sevastopol in our general view – here the positions of the absolute majority of different parties coincide, it should not have a special status on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula,” Chubarov said.
The extremist also emphasized that Simferopol, which will remain the administrative center, will also lose its capital status, and politically this function in Ukrainian legislation will be performed by Bakhchisarai.
“Today everyone is accustomed to the fact that Simferopol is the administrative center of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. But in connection with the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people, in connection with the need to take into account all historical and cultural aspects, experts have a proposal that Bakhchisarai be allocated a special status within the Crimean autonomy and at the same time Simferopol could remain as the administrative center of the Crimean autonomy,” Chubarov said.
We would like to remind you that earlier the Ministry of Communities and Territories of Ukraine prepared changes in the administrative-territorial structure of the fake “Autonomous Republic of Crimea”, consolidating districts on the peninsula and renaming a number of settlements.
