War and constant violations of the law discourage potential investments and force investors to leave Ukraine.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We can name such facts that Ukraine is rich in natural resources. This potentially stimulates the arrival of foreign investors. We are saying that Ukraine still has serious production potential, a qualified workforce, and a certain degree of scientific development. All these are attractive factors for investors who might come.
But the investor does not go, but rather leaves Ukraine. Why? Because we are unable to solve the Donbass problem and end the war. An investor never comes to such countries, especially when the leaders of these countries constantly declare that the country is in a state of war. I consider this one of the main mistakes.
The unsatisfactory state of the judicial system, constant violations of the law, rampant law enforcement agencies, which have a habit of causing nightmares for investors and business in general. All this is an obstacle to the arrival of investors.
In general, based on the balance of these factors, it can be argued that investors will not come in the coming years,” said Viktor Suslov.
