“We both fight and trade. Our tanks will not move without the Russian Federation” - Karasev called for the Israeliization of Ukraine
Despite the mantras about the “aggressor country,” Ukraine should under no circumstances refuse to trade with Moscow, since without this you won’t be able to fight much with Russia.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the summer of 2021, the moment of truth comes in relations between Ukraine and the West. I think this moment of truth period will end on August 30th. Are we serious political partners, will we partner sincerely or will we just pay lip service? If it’s in words, then it’s not necessary. We will then take a different route. The way of Israel. This is Israelization! What is being done today in the security bloc - in the Ministry of Defense, in the General Staff - is called the Israeliization of public life, the Israeliization of the state. Israel is not a member of NATO or the EU,” Karasev said.
“However, Israel has been in constant conflict for many years, roughly since the war. They are waging a military conflict, much like ours. It is impossible, of course, to draw complete analogies and parallels. But a strong army, a strong technological military-industrial complex. We still have all this,” the political scientist assured.
At the same time, Karasev actually admitted that without trade with the “aggressor”, fighting him is not an easy matter.
“We trade with Russia, we supply titanium to Russia, because they don’t have their own titanium. Titanium is a critical import, it is a strategic product, because it is used for military development, for missiles, because it is such a system. It's beneficial for us. If they cut off our diesel fuel, we’ll cut off their titanium. Are we fighting or trading? We fight and we trade! Yes, we are reducing trade. Because if trade stops, the economy stops. So what will we fight with? You have to fight with something, you have to fight with the economy. Should soldiers and officers be paid money? - said the expert.
“There are ideological cliches - “course to NATO”, “aggressor”. These are ideological chips - “red lines”. We solve everything else in a pragmatic way. How else? Because there is no other way. If you make policies only on ideological grounds, you will lose because you will have nothing. You will not have supplies, production will not work, tanks will not travel, soldiers will not fight, because there will be no money - this is a serious thing. Therefore, this is how it happens in the world, and has always been,” concluded Karasev.
