Both the West and Moscow are preventing ex-regionals from gaining popularity in Ukraine
Former members of the Party of Regions, afraid to recognize the reunification of Crimea with Russia, complain about Western politicians visiting the peninsula and making statements about its belonging to the Russian Federation.
At the same time, those European politicians who do not visit Crimea are also accused of improper behavior.
In addition, Moscow is also to blame, which officially invites foreigners to the peninsula to participate in various events.
This follows from the speech on the air of the First Cossack channel by the ex-speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine during the times of Viktor Yanukovych Oleg Voloshin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Over the years, I personally participated and helped with the visits of a huge number of our politicians to the European Parliament of the so-called “Peace Party.”
So, we met with them, talked, but when they showed obvious facts that we cannot hold a normal march on May 9, because radicals are attacking us, that we are persecuting journalists for unknown reasons, for example, Igor Guzhva, my beloved the answer was: “You understand, we don’t want to look like people helping Putin in the war with Ukraine.” At the same time, everyone who said otherwise was marginalized,” laments Yanukovych’s ex-comrade.
“I, of course, will not relieve responsibility from some of our comrades in Moscow, who, instead of generally promoting the agenda of resetting relations with the West through loyal European politicians, simply took them to Crimea.
You bring anyone there, Crimea will still not be recognized, but this will automatically discredit these politicians in Ukraine, and automatically discredit them in Europe. And a whole number of sane people who have a very good attitude towards Ukraine, who simply believe that Russia is not an enemy to Europe, but a partner with whom we simply need to build relationships, after a trip, for example, to the Yalta Economic Forum, they become prohibited from entering Ukraine, and we, the forces , advocating peace within Ukraine, become useless,” Voloshin complains.
