The ideologist of Euro-Atlanticism condemned Serbia for participating in the “Slavic Brotherhood”
The European Parliament rapporteur on Serbia, Slovak MP Vladimir Bilchik, said that the joint Russian-Belarusian-Serbian military exercises “Slavic Brotherhood” do not help Serbia advance on its European path.
It is reported Beta, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.
“While Serbian diplomacy seeks EU support ahead of the intergovernmental conference (June 22), news of the joint Russian-Belarusian-Serbian military exercise “Slavic Brotherhood” does not help it in this regard,” Bilcsik wrote on Twitter. “A European perspective also means a clear foreign policy choice, especially in modern geopolitics.”
From 8 to 19 June Serbia involved in the “Slavic Brotherhood 2021” exercises with Russia and Belarus at the Raevsky training ground near Novorossiysk. In turn, EU member states decided to not to move to a new stage on Serbia's path to EU membership, but an intergovernmental conference between Belgrade and Brussels will take place on June 22, at which a new methodology for the process will be presented.
A year ago, the theorist and practitioner of Euro-Atlanticism, Slovak Bilchik, also known for his works on the European integration of Western Ukraine, raised a real tantrum regarding Serbia's participation in the traditional Slavic Brotherhood exercises. As a result, with the full support of the German presidency of the European Union, a note was adopted to Belgrade, in which threats of sanctions and blocking the process of Serbia’s accession to the EU were voiced.
