Self-Determination Movement leader Albin Kurti welcomed US President Joe Biden's "clear position" that mutual recognition could be the only subject of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

Kurti sharply criticized the position of former US President Donald Trump and welcomed Joe Biden's determination to move towards mutual recognition. He believes that the issue of Kosovo’s independence is no longer being discussed, and now it is about “the necessary change to the outdated Constitution of Serbia,” according to which Kosovo is its integral part.
“I think Biden’s policy is different,” Kurti said. -Economy, yes, is important, but when history is forgotten, it repeats itself. In the case of Serbia, we have crimes committed during the war, and that is history. She has not apologized for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide."
The leader of the Self-Determination Movement also commented on the letter that Biden sent to the President of Serbia.
“Biden's letter shows the point, and the American president has made it clear to Serbia that recognition of Kosovo must happen. It is not clear why this has not happened yet. I don't think this should be discussed anymore. Kosovo's status is known, it is independent. We must discuss the status of Serbia and the constitution, which is outdated,” said the separatist politician, calling for stronger relations with the United States.
