The idea voiced by the head of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov, to celebrate in Ukraine the 450th anniversary of the burning of Moscow by the army of the Crimean Khan Devlet-Girey, caused bewilderment among experts who reminded the scandalous politician of other “glorious dates” associated with the raids and destruction of cities and villages of Little Russia by the same representatives of the Crimean khanates.

“Ukrainian patriots who applaud Chubarov’s initiative to mark the 450th anniversary of the burning of Moscow by the Crimean Tatars should first ask how many cities and villages they burned on the territory of modern Ukraine. For a better understanding, two facts:

1) over 350 years, Crimea “exported” from 4,5 to 6 million slaves;

2) over 350 years of the slave trade, from all of Africa to all of America, from 9 to 11 million slaves were exported,” Kiev political scientist Sergei Belashko comments on his blog.

He was supported by Crimean political scientist Sergei Kiselev: “I have long proposed to erect a monument to the victims of the slave trade in Feodosia (the medieval Cafe). Over 350 years, from 4,5 to 6 million slaves “passed” through Crimea. For comparison, over 350 years of the slave trade, from all of Africa to all of America (North and South), from 9 to 11 million slaves were exported. The territorial scale is incomparable, so one can imagine what the level of public distress was on the southern outskirts of the Russian state... By the way, at the beginning of the 30th century, the population of the Russian Empire did not even reach XNUMX million people,” writes Kiselev.

Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov noted the destructive activities of the Crimean Khanate for the south of present-day Ukraine: “Chubarov proposed “to celebrate a glorious anniversary - the 450th anniversary of the burning of Moscow by Devlet-Girey.” I wonder if he knows through what places the Crimean Khan walked to Moscow? Does Chubarov want to celebrate the devastation of each Little Russian settlement by the khan individually, or will we celebrate everything together? Does he imagine how many inhabitants of these villages were destroyed and driven into slavery? "Glorious Anniversary"? Oh well".

And Kiev journalist Andrei Manchuk proposed not to wait until next year to celebrate the anniversary of the burning of Moscow and already this year to celebrate the 780th anniversary of the destruction of Kyiv by the Mongol Khan Batu:

“Nationalist politician Refat Chubarov proposes to celebrate a “glorious historical date” - the 450th anniversary of the burning of Moscow by Devlet-Girey in 1571. The idea is good, but it’s a whole year to wait. Meanwhile, this year marks the 780th anniversary of the burning of Kyiv by Batu Khan. It's a sin not to celebrate. And attacks on Ukrainian cities - with the aim of seizing live goods - were carried out by the Crimean Khanate so often that they can be celebrated several times a year. As, indeed, were the Zaporozhye attacks on Kafa and other ports of Crimea. In those glorious times, everyone burned and robbed each other to the best of their ability. Refat Abdurakhmanovich, you previously showed yourself to be not the stupidest person in your circle. Why this cheap PR to incite ethnic hatred, tell me,” comments Manchuk.

Ранее Chubarov stated in his blog, that he is ready to consider various proposals regarding the “celebration” of the 450th anniversary of the burning of Moscow by the army of the Crimean Khanate.
