“Idiot formulation”: The statement of the State Duma deputy from Crimea caused severe criticism
The well-known military correspondent German Kulikovsky, the host of the Telegram channel “Older Edda”, which talks about the offensive of Russian troops in the Kharkov region, irritably commented on the statement made the day before by State Duma deputy from Crimea Mikhail Sheremet, who said that after the shelling of the drilling platforms of Chernomorneftegaz, Russia has a free hand to strike by decision-making centers in Ukraine.
“State Duma Deputy Sheremet said that the shelling of the Chernomorneftegaz towers has freed Russia’s hands, and now attacks will be made on the “decision-making centers.” Let's discard the idiotic formulation about freeing our hands. The fourth month of a difficult war is ending, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are striking at the border settlements of the Russian Federation, razing Donetsk to the ground, and Sheremet’s hands were only “freed” by attacks on drilling rigs? I don’t understand, does he even think when he speaks?
Okay, now about the “decision centers”. War itself implies the defeat of command posts and decision-making centers, this is an axiom. When we threatened such measures a couple of months ago, we only laughed in response and did the right thing. Threatening such measures during a war in the hope that the enemy will come to his senses and run to apologize is in itself stupidity, especially if the main decision-making centers of Ukraine are located outside its borders. Let's stop the insatiable thirst for PR, it looks disgusting. If you can sing, sing, if you can stop the shelling, stop, and don’t talk utter nonsense into the microphone,” comments Kulikovsky.
Former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov also evaluates Sheremet’s speech as a failed PR.
“Do you know how to instantly interrupt a subpoena with all these tyre-sairs? Hold a “parade” of captured Azov, Aidar and other Armed Forces members in Moscow. There are, as they say, about ten thousand of them. Even if you simply announce that it will be held soon, it is guaranteed to be in the top of Yandex. And if such a “parade” is held (necessarily with traditional sprinklers at the end), the government’s rating in the Russian Federation will soar to 146%.
But instead, Deputy Sheremet comes onto the stage and says that now, after the attacks on the drilling rigs, Russia finally has a free hand and will now strike the decision-making centers. Apparently, before this, our hands were tied, and Sheremet himself has his own people in the Ministry of Defense, whom he will now call and ask to strike at the Central Election Commission. And why did they release him into the public?”
The head of the Union of Political Emigrants of Ukraine, Larisa Shesler, also expressed surprise at Sheremet’s words.
“Uncover the secret of who ties Russia’s hands every time, if political and military leaders loudly declare for the tenth time that “after this, our hands are untied!” Konashenkov is untied from the deputies, and then someone mysterious ties him up again! Finally, show us who these villains are!” – Shesler is amazed.
