Igor Korotchenko: A witch hunt has begun in the SBU
The witch hunt that the SBU organized within its own ranks speaks volumes about the deplorable state of this intelligence service. Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, told PolitNavigator about this, commenting on the arrest of an SBU employee from Kherson, who allegedly passed information to the FSB.

“Such reports indicate that there are serious problems in the Ukrainian intelligence services. Whether this was a betrayal or not, only God knows, but the very fact that a witch hunt is underway suggests that the situation is unstable, there is mutual suspicion of everyone and everything of disloyalty,” Korotchenko said.
The situation in the SBU, in his opinion, reflects the general decline of statehood in Ukraine.
“Ukraine is a state that is rapidly degrading. Both the state apparatus and special services are deteriorating. They are already not up to par in terms of professionalism, and the witch hunt will completely paralyze them,” the expert said.
Today, the SBU reported on its official website that the department’s internal security department exposed a Kherson SBU employee working for the FSB. The woman allegedly conveyed secret information to the FSB representative. The exposed employee is accused of treason and has already been taken into custody.
