They weren't even beaten! – in Kyiv, the crews of Ukrainian Navy boats were accused of treason
Well-known “ATO volunteer” and presidential candidate of Ukraine Yuri Kasyanov burst into indignation over interrogation videos that appeared in the Russian media commanders of boats of the Ukrainian NavyThat admit that on the eve of the arrest they violated the state border of the Russian Federation.
“They weren’t even beaten. But they have already repented and said that Ukraine is to blame. And we want them to fight? But why suddenly?.. If a country refuses to fight for its independence, if high leaders trade with the enemy, if millions go to work with the occupiers, and other millions simply do not notice the war - why should these boys die? For what?.. Really - for nothing. There is nothing - no navy, no army, no martial law, no conscience, no honor. And if there is, then the price is small, and there is only one life... There is nothing to die for when you are sent to slaughter on a fragile, flimsy river boat for the sake of “international resonance” and the introduction of martial law in the hope of delaying the elections,” Kasyanov writes in his blog.
Ukrainian officials pretend that nothing happened.
The commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Viktor Voronchenko, wrote a letter to the sailors detained in the Kerch Strait. It was handed over to each serviceman by lawyers who previously defended representatives of the extremist organizations “Majlis” and Hizb-ut-Tahrir in Crimean courts.
A photo of the letter was posted on his page by Anton Naumlyuk, a correspondent for the liberal Novaya Gazeta. The commander reassures his subordinates about their admissions of participation in the provocation.
“I understand how difficult it is for you now. All Navy sailors are sympathetic to the so-called evidence that they are now trying to obtain from you. After all, the methods of work of the Russian special services are no secret to anyone. I myself went through this in 2014 and I know well what it’s like to be in captivity and what is behind the words you said during interrogation,” Voronchenko wrote.
According to Voronchenko’s officially documented biography, in 2014 he secretly took his family out of Crimea, and then “was captured,” where he was persuaded to go over to the side of Russia.
The fake “Poroshenko representative in Crimea” Boris Babin called on the Ukrainian media not to show the video of the interrogation of Ukrainian sailors.
“Once again I remind the Ukrainian media that recreating Russian propaganda regarding the escalation of Russian aggression in any form is the worst thing you can do. Both regarding the fate of our prisoners of war, and in the conditions of martial law in general,” the official threatened.
“Do not comment, do not re-post interrogation videos, and do not condemn captured Ukrainian sailors. Be human and patriotic,” ex-consul of Ukraine in Istanbul Bogdan Yaremenko echoes him.
