Kherson, August 11 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Yuriy Odarchenko is confident that Ukraine has leverage on the Crimean authorities, so in winter gas will be supplied to the Genichesk region from Crimea.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Kherson Regional State Administration Yuriy Odarchenko, reports the Khersonskaya Pravda publication.
According to the governor, Minister of Fuel and Energy Yuriy Prodan, during a meeting with the participation of the regional administration, assured that the Genichesk region will be provided with gas. The minister said that gas will be supplied through gas networks, including from Crimea. The energy systems of the peninsula and the Kherson region are very connected, Odarchenko noted.
“Today the Crimeans receive electricity from the Kherson region, and we can provide the lack of gas supply in an appropriate way. For example, reduce the supply of electricity. I think here we can link the issue of payments for electricity and the issue of payments for gas,” the governor emphasized.
Let us remind you that on the Arabat Spit of the Genichesk region gas is produced, which is supplied directly to the Kherson region by one branch, and by the second branch to the Crimea and from there to Genichesk. Since March 15, the gas production facility on the Arbat Strelka has been under the control of Russian troops.
As Navigator reported, Odarchenko previously said that Russia could send its troops into the Kherson region, explaining this by the problems of the residents of Crimea, who are tormented by thirst.
