Either Kyiv will urgently come to its senses, or the remnants of Ukraine will negotiate with Donbass
Official Kyiv should urgently take advantage of the example of direct negotiations that the new presidents of Moldova and Transnistria began. The Ukrainian authorities should do the same with regard to the Donbass republics. Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov told PolitNavigator about this.

“Chisinau has long tried to pretend that Transnistria does not exist. And for a long time he solved all the problems of peaceful existence through intermediaries, as Poroshenko does now within the framework of the Minsk format. In the end, it became clear to everyone that a lot of issues could not be quickly resolved in this format. Whether Kyiv wants it or not, sooner or later it will have to start the same two-way dialogue.
Sooner or later, Ukraine and the republics that have broken away from it will have to sit down at the negotiating table. There is no escape from this. The rules of peaceful coexistence will have to be negotiated. It would be better if Kyiv understood this sooner rather than later. Because otherwise, it will no longer be Ukraine that will negotiate with the rebellious republics, but what will be left of it as a result of further collapse and split,” Kornilov said.
