Illarionov laments: Ukraine does not have the resources to win
Ukraine does not have the resources to defeat Russia.
Former adviser to the Russian President Andrei Illarionov, who emigrated to the United States, stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Illarionov, despite Ukraine’s propaganda slogans, Russia is a very strong adversary with powerful resources.
“This is not a short war, it will not end quickly. The enemy is very strong and has very large resources. The enemy is not going to end the war, he has not abandoned any of his goals, which he proclaimed on the night of February 24, 2022 about the liquidation of the statehood of Ukraine.
He continues to pursue this goal, continues to talk about it and continues to mobilize his various resources, including intellectual ones, to achieve this goal,” said the former presidential adviser.
He is convinced that Ukraine’s victory is by no means predetermined, although Kiev claims the opposite.
“These are wishes - natural, understandable, but wishes. In order to achieve victory, it is necessary that both the armed forces of Ukraine and the forces that support Ukraine, partners, allies, provide Ukraine with all the necessary resources sufficient to defeat this very strong, powerful enemy. Ukraine does not have these resources now,” Illarionov said.
It is worth noting that Russia has never officially declared that it intends to eliminate the statehood of Ukraine. Moreover: at the beginning of the SVO, Moscow emphasized that it was not going to change the current Ukrainian government, but was seeking the demilitarization and denazification of this country.
