According to the Speaker of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov, this decision in the State Council has been brewing for a long time and today’s appointment is a good sign for the Crimean Tatars, reports the Navigator correspondent.
“We adopted a resolution, discussed at the presidium, on the election of Ilyasov Remzi as deputy chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea. Today he is sitting in the hall - he doesn’t have a chair yet, but you can clap him. We have long insisted that Ilyasov join the governing bodies of parliament and get involved in legislative work, because life is very dynamic and the absence of representatives of the Majlis in this process would be wrong for us. You can criticize us or oppose us, but you cannot be indifferent - the people themselves will suffer. I consider this decision a good sign,” said Vladimir Konstantinov.
Let us note that on May 16, Remzi Ilyasov was also present at the meeting between President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This came as a complete surprise to the former head of the Mejlis and People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev.
“As far as I know, he was not consulted by the Majlis and did not receive permission from the Majlis. This surprised me extremely, I did not expect it,” the politician told reporters at the time.
