“We see how the foreign exchange market has shrunk. Today, foreign exchange turnover through the Interbank Bank is about $200 million versus $2 billion in 2013. Thus, the turnover fell 10 times. The country receives 10 times less currency, and accordingly, imports are limited; they fell by 37-38%. What are we bringing in today? Gasoline, medicine. For all other items - clothing, cars, etc. - there was a sharp decline. For example, according to customs data for 6 months, 70% less shoes were imported compared to 2013. Prices have risen so much that you can import them, but how can you sell them? This is a deterrent to imports,” he said.
