“Otherwise we’ll start hunting them” – Ponomarev calls on the West to blackmail the Russian elite
Even if Russia withdraws its troops from Ukraine, Western bloc countries will not help Kyiv with reconstruction.
Ex-State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev, who fled to Ukraine, stated this on the TSN TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Putin withdraws troops, what will the West do in terms of the internal situation in Russia? Does he forgive war crimes, forgive the reparations that Ukraine is talking about? Will he bear all the costs of restoring Ukrainian infrastructure? Obviously not,” Ponomarev said.
In his opinion, Western countries should enter into direct conflict with Russia as soon as possible and begin dictating their terms to Moscow.
“If not, then the issues of regime change will be at full scale. But what then is the position towards Russia? If it were said loudly: “Russians, you remove Putin, and we leave the system, and we will not hunt war criminals,” I think such a position would be taken seriously in Moscow, and people would start thinking about it.
Or you can approach it from the other side. This can also be a negative sentence: “If you don’t do something, we will physically destroy you, we will hunt you in all countries of the world, and bring you to justice,” this is also an argument for the Russian elites to start doing something.
And now the position “Get out of Ukraine, and then we will think about something” will not be taken seriously,” the national traitor reasoned.
