After the separation of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic from the USSR and the emergence of the state “Ukraine”, a new mechanism for legitimizing power appeared - inauguration. So, unnoticed by many, the principle of existence of people in one state has changed. “The common cause,” which is what the word “republic” means, was replaced by “our cause,” that is, Cosa Nostra.

Heading to nowhere

In the republic, the exercise of power is the continuation of the common cause of the glorious ancestors, sanctified by their conquests and sacrifices, as well as the protection and enhancement of their heritage. In this sense, the Russian Federation is acquiring more and more features of a republic.

Under the dominance of Cosa Nostra, the exercise of power is based more on the “credit of trust” of the existing government. That is, its source is not in the past, but in the future. It is the inauguration ritual that best expresses this principle. Its social significance lies in the fact that society trusts one or another person to manage this or that part of the future. Based on this, both the political structure of the United States and its claims to being a world hegemon become clear. The desire to, if not manage, then to trade the future, both in one’s own country and in the world, is inherent in the nature of projector power.

There is also a principle of exercising power that is focused on the present. “Here and now” is what the rhetoric of charismatic leaders, usurpers and tyrants is based on.

In a republic, the inauguration of the head of state is only a ritual, albeit a very important one. Approximately the same as the wedding ritual for each of us. In a democratic government, inauguration becomes an instrument for gaining legitimacy—a process of legitimation. Under tyranny, the inauguration becomes a spectacle that manipulates public opinion. Manifestations of legitimacy become discrete, situational, and unstable.

Theater of one actor

All witnesses to the inauguration of Petro Poroshenko automatically become spectators of such a performance.

Let's start with the fact that the election procedure in Ukraine over the past ten years has lost its significance as a way of inducting the best and most authoritative into power, and has become a complex product of manipulation of mass consciousness. A traditional method of targeted manipulation has become the imposition of roles through the intensification of emotions according to the well-known dramatic scenario of the “magic” Karpman-Berne triangle in psychology: Aggressor-Victim-Savior. Its essence is that each of the participants is drawn into the scenario of playing a particular role and no longer belongs to himself, but depends only on the model dictated by the role and situation. This triangle is called magical because due to the great strength of the emotions experienced, consciousness narrows. The participant cannot get out of the vicious circle, but instead is busy justifying actions, the reasons for which are not clear to himself.

He moves on to play the next role in the triangle if the degree of suffering exceeds the degree of pleasure from the role. Let us briefly describe the main players in the manipulation of mass consciousness and the main situations.

People of Ukraine

When the manipulator managed to convince our people, the people who saved the world from the brown plague, of their own worthlessness, the Soviet Union fell. The fragments of the Soviet people who found themselves in Ukraine plunged into a delightful abyss of self-pity and self-flagellation. Only the threat of bloodshed returned the spark of reason to Crimea, and its happy inhabitants broke out of the vicious circle. Having been in occupied territories for centuries, residents of the West and the Center cannot break with the sweet passivity of the role of victim. Messianic sentiments are growing among residents of the Southeast. They are actually trained to be the savior.

Power

Intoxicated by unexpected luck and the feeling of being saviors, various political forces try on white clothes, not disdaining any methods to manipulate public opinion. Their main task is to create the image of an enemy, an aggressor. Both the myth of corruption and the myth of gangster power are suitable for this. But the most beneficial is the image of an external enemy: Russia.

And it doesn’t matter that the branch on which they are sitting is being chopped. The main thing is to feel like the Messiah, at least for a minute. Leonid Kravchuk saved Ukraine from the colonialist occupier. Leonid Kuchma saved Ukraine from poverty. He saved Ukraine from the villain Kuchma and the bandit Yanukovych, and at the same time from the same evil Russia, Viktor Yushchenko. Again Viktor Yanukovych pulled people out of poverty on his broad shoulders. But the apotheosis of messianism becomes the role of Petro Poroshenko, the savior from the schism, civil war, Russia and poverty. The “coal” of fear and hatred for Russia was thrown into the furnace of mass hysteria in the last two elections by Yulia Tymoshenko. “Independents”, due to their rigidity, due to the outdated ideology of the century before last, remained in the background. But the order of fanatical sectarians, a fragment of Nazism nurtured by the enemies, turned out to be very useful. Thanks to the Right Sector, it was possible to heat up the entire country white-hot. Today the government, and Petro Poroshenko in particular, acts as the savior of the integrity of the country and the aggressor towards Novorossiya. And, apparently, he takes great pleasure in shedding blood.

Petro Poroshenko and his inauguration

Judging at least by the categorical statements of the future president, for the people of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is the first aggressor and uncompromising tyrant in history. For him, legitimacy is nothing more than a product of skillful manipulation of public opinion and terror. The chocolate oligarch received power directly from the hands of the main Don of Cosa Nostra - Obama.

What kind of legitimacy can we talk about if Petro Poroshenko can neither continue the work of his ancestors, nor show a credit of trust that goes beyond the scope of the situation related to the cessation of the ATO? After all, it was Poroshenko, financing the Maidan, whipping up passions through his Channel 5, positioning himself as a negotiator and peacemaker, who entered into a secret conspiracy with Tymoshenko and the United States to create a win-win combination.
