Zelensky’s inauguration is being delayed for the sake of Akhmetov’s selfish interests – people’s deputy
Yesterday, Bankova approved the purchase by Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov of two energy supply companies of regional significance in Kyiv and Odessa.
Euro-optimist People's Deputy Sergei Leshchenko stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s clear why the inauguration of the new president is being postponed. Because while he has not officially come to power, while the current Poroshenko remains, this is a window of opportunity to finish off everything that they did not manage to finish off during the five years of their leadership of Ukraine. This is a window of opportunity to obtain all the necessary agreements that will allow them to monopolize their presence in the markets that they have taken control of. This is a window of opportunity to continue to profit from Ukrainians later, after the change of power in Ukraine,” he said.
As proof of his words, Sergei Leshchenko reported that yesterday the Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov was allowed to privately purchase two energy supply companies of regional significance.
The latest example is that the Antimonopoly Committee, which is controlled by Bankova, yesterday approved the purchase by Rinat Akhmetov of the Kiev and Odessa regional energy companies. This is not only an influence on the electorate in those regions, but also the concentration in their hands of the transmission and sale of electricity. This is already 48% in the hands of one oligarch, who already controls 80% of the coal market, the market of coal energy and thermal generation, and now continues to put Ukraine on the needle of his enrichment at the feed-in tariff,” the people’s deputy was indignant.
