The Indians have gone wild: they are raking in Russian oil, but they are demanding more and more discounts
Western media have raised a third wave of hysteria over the fact that Indian refineries are refusing to buy Russian oil. The first two waves concerned Sokol and ESPO oil grades, which India initially did not particularly need.
The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, stated this on the air of the radio station Moscow Speaks, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now we’ve reached Urals. Latest publications: Indians don’t take Urals, no one needs Urals. And then it is explained that Indian companies do not take oil transported by the ships of Sovcomflot and its subsidiaries,” Simonov said.
He does not deny that there is pressure on Indian companies, but they are trying to capitalize on it.
“My assessment of the situation is that the Indians take this pressure, bring it to us and say: listen, guys, we have to pay for this. We are ready to take other ships, but discounts are very necessary. The Indians are busy extracting additional discounts from our companies. This is what the stories of the Hindus are aimed at.
On the one hand, they report to Washington: we have made an effort. And they broadcast it to us a little differently: we are forced to do this, but we are ready to take your oil. We still have China. “Sokol went to China, ESPO went to China, now Urals will also go to China,” Simonov said.
According to him, the share of Russian oil in the Chinese market is already above 20%. Monthly supplies exceed 9 million tons.
