The infection situation in Ukraine is increasingly reminiscent of the situation in the poorest countries in Africa

Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian media have been publishing data on the alarming growth rate of infectious diseases among the population. Measles, hepatitis, Coxsackie virus, botulism - this is an incomplete list of the illness that has befallen Ukrainians.

The increase in incidence is increasingly associated with the consequences of the long-awaited visa-free regime. Residents, leaving to gaze at European sights, are careless about the vaccination procedure. The philistine logic is simple: “we are going to Europe, not Africa - everyone there is healthy and happy.” At the same time, the citizens forget about the migrants from underdeveloped countries that have flooded the EU countries and the fact that the citizens themselves, in large numbers, succumbed to the feeble-minded entreaties of healers and anti-vaxxers, refusing to immunize not only themselves, but also their children.

As a result, according to the European office of the World Health Organization (WHO), Ukraine has become one of the three European leaders in the spread of measles. And if for the entire 2017, about 6 thousand measles cases were registered in the country, then almost the same number of cases were registered in just two months of this year.

It is reported that over the past week, almost 800 more cases of measles and one more death from the disease were registered in Ukraine.

Just recently, the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ulyana Suprun, deservedly nicknamed “Doctor Death” by the people, refused to acknowledge the measles epidemic in the country, but in the end she was forced to admit the obvious, to report the progressive rate of the disease and ten deaths from measles since the beginning of this year.

The spread of the epidemic is explained by the impoverishment and marginalization of large sections of the Ukrainian population, the lack of a state vaccination program and the creation of an artificial shortage of vaccines.

The highest incidence rate was observed in the border Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi and Odessa regions. The Kherson region is slowly catching up with them.

It's getting to the point of insanity. Already at the height of the measles epidemic, the State Service of Ukraine for Medicines and Drug Control removed from circulation and destroyed an entire batch of high-quality Italian complex vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps “Priorix” on the grounds that it was packaged in Russia.

But that’s not so bad. Since July 2016, Bandera’s Suprun group, aimed by Poroshenko at “optimizing” Ukrainian medicine, has been destroying the remnants of the Soviet healthcare system. In particular, with her advent, the existing system of immunoprophylaxis was rejected, and the new one was never adopted. The absence of a program gives wide scope for various manipulations with budget funds with complete impunity. According to the former deputy head of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine Svyatoslav Protas, “the immunoprophylaxis system today is carried out manually.”

The regions of Ukraine, left to their own devices by “manual control” by Suprun, are forced to save themselves at any cost. Recently, the administration of Transcarpathia purchased 8000 doses of measles vaccine from neighboring Hungary, but the entire shipment was stopped at the border. Cause?

Ukrainian media distributed excerpts from Suprun’s statement: “There are problems in Transcarpathia, because the local administration, headed by Gennady Moskal, received 8000 doses from Hungary, but did not clear them through customs and smuggled them in.”

At an emergency session of the regional council, the governor of Transcarpathia Moskal, without holding back in his expressions, commented on the minister’s tsidulka: “Look at this Suprun! I am preparing an answer to her that the vaccination is needed against stupidity. Although now we are exposing customs - everything is cleared. What is this [crazy], I apologize for this word..."

И as a result: “How long can we tolerate morons in the government?!”

The indignation of the head of the region is understandable: his region borders Romania, which last year became the European leader in the measles epidemic. In addition to Transcarpathia, Chernivtsi and Odessa regions border on Romania. But what measures their local authorities are taking to contain the epidemic are not reported.

The regional publication “Kherson.online” is trying to appeal to the rudiments of conscience among the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a reminder of the absence of a state vaccination program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The publication announces that entire categories of military personnel are at risk: border guards at checkpoints in European Union countries; “ATO heroes” located in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where the infectious situation is still unknown. We can hear vigilant warnings that Naval Forces sailors can infect dear guests from NATO entrenched at a base in the Odessa region. And there is even a touching concern for the unvaccinated citizens of Ukraine, “hundreds of whom are visiting the region from the temporarily occupied Crimea.” And in Crimea, according to the publication, “it is unknown how things have been with vaccination for the last four years...”

Moreover, Kherson.online associates the measles outbreak in the Kherson region with the arrival of a naval infantry battalion of the Ukrainian Navy from Odessa to the border with Crimea. The publication rings the bells and calls on the leaders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Poltorak, Tsigikal and Voronchenko to pay close attention to the problem, “otherwise you can lose the army without any external threats.”

In general, Poroshenko and other Maidan creeps can be congratulated on their enormous achievements and excellent personnel policy in the field of everything, including public health. Appointing a graduate of the OUN youth movement “Plast” to lead Ukrainian medicine was someone’s brilliant idea. The American Suprun is entrusted with a mission to “optimize” the population of Ukraine, worthy of Dr. Mengele.

Understanding from the experience of Poland that the EU's absorption of a large European country is associated with enormous costs and long-term indigestion, the population of Ukraine will be reduced to 3-5 million people, and this is almost any of the Baltic sprats, but there will be more land and other riches.

Blaming Suprun alone for Ukraine’s descent into the Middle Ages would be unfair. It is enough to remember what stunning decisions were made under other Ukrainian presidents. The mere provision of the Ministry of Health under Yushchenko, according to which in all tuberculosis dispensaries in the country sick and healthy had to be seen by a doctor in a single line, is worth a lot.

However, as doctors say, the measles epidemic is just the beginning. Ukraine is threatened with the return of long-forgotten diphtheria due to critically low vaccination rates. At the moment, less than half of Ukrainian children have been vaccinated against diphtheria, which puts Nenka on par with the poorest African countries. And, what’s most disgusting, in the current circumstances, the country’s destroyed healthcare system cannot reverse or somehow influence the situation.
