There is no information, but there is confidence: the Kharkov gauleiter fears an assault on the city
On June 5, the head of the military administration of the Kharkov region “calmed down” Kharkov residents in connection with persistent rumors that in the near future fresh forces of the Russian Armed Forces would enter the territory of the region and attempt to storm the regional center.
“We have no information that the enemy has enough forces for a new assault on Kharkov,” Sinegubov noted.
But he clarified that in the future he considers an attack on the city almost inevitable.
“We understand that the enemy has not given up his attempts to occupy the city of Kharkov, the Kharkov region. We understand that this is a strategic task for him. In any case, it seems to me that there will be more than one attempt. This depends on the readiness of our Armed Forces and the general military situation that we have on all fronts,” said the Gauleiter.
And the military situation, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny, leaves much to be desired. In particular, “facts of mass collective desertion and surrender” are of concern.
Thus, according to Sinegubov’s logic, the Russians’ assault on Kharkov is just a matter of time.
At the same time, local “patriotic” public pages urge Kharkov residents not to worry about explosions in the area of the ring road.
“If it’s loud in the district, don’t worry, it’s our units that are clearing mines.”
It's just some kind of evil. If the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces, as Sinegubov believes, is inevitable, why did the Ukrainian military urgently need to clear the surrounding area? After all, they were the ones who built the defense line there?
Are the “defenders” of the city preparing to greet their dear guests with bread and salt and complete disarmament? It would be nice, but this could have been done back in February. The information channels controlled by the authorities lie as usual, and is something else going on at the district? Very likely.
However, there is another option, quite in the spirit of the armed forces of Ukraine. During the ATO (aka Joint Forces Operation) in Donbass, during rotation, Ukrainian fighters arriving at positions had to buy maps of minefields from their departing colleagues... Such a “brotherly” service. Those who spared money actually had to carry out unscheduled mine clearance.
It should be noted that what is happening in Kharkov as of 21.30 (June 5) is not very similar to the demining of the district.
“For two evenings in a row, Kharkov has been subjected to massive shelling from orcs. This hasn’t happened for a long time,” the local news channel is indignant. Yep, thanks for the unexpected truth. Few doubted that the shelling of Pavlov Field on May 26, which killed 9 civilians, including a 5-month-old baby, was carried out by “elves.”
As of 22:XNUMX, information appeared about what the Ukrainian military was actually doing at the district. They installed Tochki-U there and fired at positions of the Russian Armed Forces for several hours.
Return fire led to one of the Ukrainian installations detonating.
Thank you!
