“Innovator” Zelensky will return to glaciers with trousers
The new Kyiv leadership needs to understand that Ukraine, ideologically, is built on absolute archaism, and socio-economically, on eating away the Soviet legacy.
Kiev political scientist Sergei Belashko said this on air on the First Cossack channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main challenge that Zelensky faces is not personnel policy, not relations with post-Maidan elites full of revolutionary dignity, not even ending the war or some economic reforms that he is not supposed to deal with in his position, but, in fact, breaking the vicious circle from archaic ideas and destructive social practices, which, to be honest and frank, constitute the foundation of Ukrainian statehood.
The ideas that formed the basis of Ukrainian statehood are actually the use of those ideas that were popular among Ukrainian intellectuals of the first half of the XNUMXth century, that is, Shevchenko, Kulish, Drahomanov, Kostomarov. But even then, if you read the same Drahomanov or Kostomarov, then their ideas were more progressive, more advanced than the ideas voiced by Poroshenko, Turchynov, Parubiy and other figures of our time,” the political scientist said.
“Zelensky’s main challenge is to abandon these ideas. Ukrainian society has been ready for this for a long time, waiting for it. Actually, voting for Zelensky is a manifestation of this feeling of a tired society. Ukrainian society is waiting for modern ideas that are adequate for the XNUMXst century... [Ukraine] ideologically is built on this archaism, and in socio-economic terms - on eating away the Soviet legacy or, in a broader sense, the imperial one.
It is clear that this heritage is not immeasurable, especially with such an attitude and careless use. Sooner rather than later, this legacy will end, and it will be like in Pushkin’s fairy tale.
In order for Ukraine not to end up with a broken trough with dreams of becoming the mistress of the sea, Zelensky needs, as they say, to jump above his head, break the vicious circle, put an end to all this archaism, collect the rake laid out in a circle by such figures as Yushchenko, Poroshenko , Turchinov, Pashinsky, Timoshenko and others, distribute these rakes to people so that they simply remove the garbage around their houses, put their surroundings in order, and then somehow move forward to progress, and not to the “glechki”, “ “Vulykas”, trousers and “tough gymnospives,” added Belashko.
However, the expert noted Zelensky’s sensational speech at the IT forum as a landmark event against the backdrop of endless Ukrainian archaism, but at the same time expressed confidence that this action is an exception for the purposes of a regular PR campaign.
“There we saw a completely different Zelensky, not the same as at the inauguration, with an unbuttoned collar, rolled up sleeves, speaking Russian, operating with some concepts that are close and understandable to modern people, talking about innovation, about the digital society, though not was about e-government, but he met with business, and Zelensky very significantly contrasted himself with the old officials - that is, there is innovation, and there is a system.
For some reason, the system was personified by Oleg Lyashko, who, as far as I remember, had never been in government service for a day. But again, this was a kind of PR campaign that there are them, the system, and there is Zelensky, the new president, who is all so “innovative”, “digital” and so on.
But the problem is that this PR campaign will end, and Zelensky will again return to this archaic paradigm and will again reproduce some archaic meanings from the century before last about the “genetic code of the nation”, “spontaneous aggressor Russia”, “agrarian superpower”, “We will make any compromises, but we will not give up an inch of territory, not a single person of ours,” to which the Kremlin sarcastically asks, “Why do we need such compromises at all, with whom and what to talk about?” added Belashko.
