The foreign agent publication The Insider released an investigation into the income and real estate of the founder of the Yabloko party, Grigory Yavlinsky. It discovered that the politician owns a plot of land (28 acres) and a cottage (400 square meters).

The foreign agent publication suggests that the price of the property is 55 million rubles, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The layout of the house includes 5 bedrooms, a spacious living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, a dining room, a spacious view terrace, a billiard room, a library, a cinema, a sauna, a jacuzzi, a relaxation room, and a bathroom. The territory also has a garage, a gazebo and housing for staff,” The Insider describes.

“This looks like a PR campaign by G. A. Yavlinsky himself. After 30+ years in big politics, you only saved up for a not-so-luxurious mansion? Or someone doesn’t say something, like Gerasim in the famous joke about Mumu,” liberal political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky commented on the information in his telegram channel.

But the pathos of The Insider’s “investigation” is not in the discovery of the property, but in the funds spent on its purchase. Foreign agent journalists are confident that Yavlinsky earned money for the purchase from the Infralex law office. The politician advised this company on economic issues.

Since the clients of the law firm are the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Education and state-owned companies, the foreign agent publication concludes that Yavlinsky received money from the Kremlin through it. It claims that the politician earns approximately the same as the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, but does not specify where this information comes from.

The Insider does not hide what idea inspired him to “investigate.”

“Criticizing Alexei Navalny, Yavlinsky accuses him of inciting “hatred of the rich”, as well as “digging in other people’s pockets.” As it turns out, the founder of Yabloko has his own reasons for defending those involved in anti-corruption investigations, since they, unlike Navalny, who is serving time in a Vladimir colony, are very close to Yavlinsky, who bought a mansion in the village of Novodarino in the Rublevsky direction,” the article opens with this paragraph.

If we consider that Yavlinsky consistently criticizes not so much Navalny as his campaign for the so-called “smart voting,” then it becomes clear that it was necessary to discredit such an influential critic in the liberal environment.

Today it became known that the editor-in-chief of The Insider, Roman Dobrokhotov, left for Ukraine without a Russian passport.

According to lawyer Stalina Gurevich, Dobrokhotov crossed the border illegally, which is punishable by up to two years in prison, or he has a passport of another state, which is punishable by a fine of 200 thousand rubles.

The journalist is accused of spreading false information that the author of the documentary about the MH17 plane crash, Max van der Werff, collaborated with foreign and Russian intelligence services.
