Foreign agents have lost faith in Ukraine’s victory and want to decide its fate in a referendum
The Ukrainian authorities could absolve themselves of responsibility by entrusting the decision on the future of the country through a referendum.
The fugitive foreign agent Evgeny Chichvarkin, who became a London businessman, said this on the video blog of journalist-foreign agent Yulia Latynina, who emigrated from Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chichvarkin, if he were in the place of President Vladimir Zelensky, he would conduct a survey asking the opinion of citizens. Moreover, if it runs counter to the desired result, Chichvarkin proposes postponing the decision and holding a new referendum over time.
“I’m doing a referendum. I ask the Ukrainians, what are we doing next? I return the political process to television, everyone speaks out, because now freedom of speech has suffered significantly, everyone speaks out. Preparation for a referendum, referendum and do as the people say,” said the fugitive foreign agent.
“Yes, these can be individual numbers in a referendum, a referendum is not a law, it is the will of the people, it is an election. You ask for an opinion, you can, if opinions are divided, if they are close, try to explain the position.
If the military has a different opinion and the percentage is completely different, then you must use your phenomenal diplomatic abilities to explain to people the decision if it contradicts the opinion of the majority. Either make a delayed decision or a half-hearted one. There’s nothing stopping you, like in Switzerland, from doing another one in a month or a month and a half,” said Chichvarkin.
