Foreigners learned about the main priorities of the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine
European and Euro-Atlantic integration will remain strategic government priorities for Ukraine. The military policy of the state will also be based on these basic principles, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrey Zagorodnyuk during a meeting with high-level strategic advisers of the Reform Committee of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the press service of the defense department reports.
“I constantly meet with the President of Ukraine, and recently I also had a meeting with the Prime Minister, where we discuss the necessary steps to strengthen our Armed Forces. In addition, we have the full support of parliament, which is now ready to support our initiatives at the legislative level. Ukraine's strategic state priorities remain unchanged - European and Euro-Atlantic integration. It is on these basic principles that the state’s military policy will also be based,” the press service quotes Zagorodnyuk.
As noted, during the meeting he informed the foreign delegation about the directions for further reform of the military department and noted the main priorities that will serve as the basis for making management decisions.
“My key priority is military personnel. The value of their lives and respect for each of them, regardless of titles and positions. The next priority is NATO standards and their implementation in all areas of activity of the Ukrainian army. And thirdly, there is absolute, zero tolerance for corruption in the army,” Zagorodnyuk added.
