Syria may become the first foreign state to restore air links with Crimea.

The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, who is on a visit to Syria, spoke about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The issue of creating a joint Syrian-Crimean trading house is being actively considered, in addition, there is the question of opening air traffic between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Crimea,” Aksenov said.

Let us recall that shortly after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the authorities of the republic attempted to organize air traffic with Turkey. However, Ankara flirted with Ukraine and refused to accept the plane directly from Simferopol - the plane had to make a technical landing in the Krasnodar Territory, after which it was headed to Istanbul. The route never became regular, and soon Turkey, at the request of Kyiv, stopped transport relations with Crimea, freezing not only air traffic, but also the ferry crossing with the peninsula.
