Foreign investors constantly experience harassment from the Ukrainian tax, prosecutor's office and intelligence services, which interfere with business, come with inspections, and confiscate documentation, servers and other equipment.

Co-chairman of the Entrepreneurship Development Committee of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs Andrey Erashov spoke about this at a briefing on the topic “The illusion of growth: what Ukraine’s 76th place in the Doing Business ranking really means,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today Ukraine is a country with an outstretched hand that shouts to investors: “Come to us.” But they don’t understand why they should go to our country. Ukraine has the worst ratings and there is no global practice in supporting the development of investors. Today there are many situations in the country when honest foreigners and our businessmen, out of habit, lie down “with their faces on the floor”: the SBU, the prosecutor’s office or the tax authorities came to them to seize documents, servers and everything that was possible. While all this is happening, we will not get any investors who are ready to come to the country and provide new jobs,” warned Erashov.
