Foreign athletes began to be afraid to go to Ukraine
In Ukraine, the bases where national athletes train continue to fall apart.
The long-time coach of the Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestling team, Artur Dzigasov, who was recently fired by the decision of the Minister of Youth Sports Igor Zhdanov, spoke about this in an interview with the Kiev online publication “Apostrophe”, although the ministry’s expert commission voted for Dzigasov’s re-election.
“The minister may be doing a lot today. But look, all our bases are falling apart, only Koncha-Zaspa is holding on. Whoever is there: fishermen, deaf and dumb people, and all kinds of sports there. And the guys haven’t been near the sea either, but this is health improvement, which is also a preparation process,” said the coach.
He also regrets that there is no longer such a specialized base as there used to be in Crimea.
“The situation in the country is such that foreigners are even afraid to come to us. They come very rarely. The guys get used to everything, but we need to change the environment and climate,” added Dzigasov.
As PolitNavigator reported, the US State Department on its official website warned American citizensthat a trip to Ukraine involves the risk of being robbed or killed.
