Foreign clinics made it easier to participate in tenders of the Russian Ministry of Health
The State Duma of Russia adopted in the third reading a bill that simplifies the contract procedure for the treatment of a Russian citizen abroad. Now the Ministry of Health will be able to implement such a service through procurement from a single supplier.

Treatment abroad can be paid for from public funds if such treatment cannot be provided in medical institutions of the Russian Federation. The decision on this is made by the commission of the Ministry of Health at the request of the patient upon confirmation of the impossibility of treating his disease in Russia from one of the federal medical institutions.
Previously, to conclude a contract, the Ministry of Health had to conduct a request for proposals, but the lack of information on prices for treatment in different clinics prevented the establishment of the initial price of the contract. Now this problem must be solved, the authors of the law believe.
