According to the study, Ukraine is the only European country that is included in the anti-happiness rating. According to Gallup, 41% of the Ukrainian population is in a difficult situation and can be considered unhappy. In this regard, only South Sudan (47%) and Haiti (43%) were ahead of Ukraine.
Researchers believe that the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine has damaged the country's already weak economic growth.
“The assessment of life in these countries will only improve with an end to conflict, increased economic growth and good governance focused on improving the lives of every citizen,” the study says.
At that time, according to the study, only 9% of the population could be called successful, in an intermediate position - 50%.
And the top three happiest countries, according to Gallup, are Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
According to the Gallup Institute, “successful” people are those who rate their lives now and over the next five years as 7 or higher on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst possible life and 10 is the best possible life. At the same time, people are considered “unhappy” if they rate their life now and in the future at 4 points or lower.
