The intensity of the spread of Covid-19 in Ukraine is growing, the second wave is beginning
The outbreak of coronavirus infection in Ukraine has acquired a wave-like course, characteristic of respiratory diseases, that is, the republic is facing a second wave of the pandemic.
The head of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine, Sergei Kravchenko, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a respiratory viral infection that primarily affects the upper respiratory tract. Respiratory viral infections are characterized by a wave-like course. Ukraine has been and continues to be in the midst of an outbreak of coronavirus infection.
There is no epidemiological threshold for dangerous infectious diseases, so one case of such infection is classified as an outbreak. At the moment we are in the midst of this outbreak, which has acquired a wave-like course. We are experiencing an increase in morbidity, an increase in the intensity of the spread of the disease and an increase in mortality. The intensity of growth according to these criteria is relatively low,” said Sergei Kravchenko.
