For the first time during the war, the main channel of Ukraine aired a story in which there was no offensive language addressed to the residents of Donbass. Moreover, journalists share enthusiastic reviews about the opening of the 75th anniversary theater season at the Lugansk Ukrainian Drama Theater on Oboronnaya.
“New theater season. Updated repertoire. Premieres and sell-outs. All performances are in Ukrainian. And this is in occupied Lugansk,” note the authors of the story.
Artistic director of the Ukrainian theater of Lugansk, People's Artist of Ukraine Mikhail Golubovich.
The artistic director of the “Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater on Oboronnaya” Mikhail Golubovich shows his dressing room. There is nothing superfluous here - just costumes, makeup and a lot of mirrors. The People's Artist of Ukraine is preparing for the premiere.
“People work with enthusiasm and with good dedication. We see the result of their work as assessed by the viewer. Because people come,” says Mikhail Golubovich.
In turn, People's Artist of Ukraine Natalya Koval says: Luhansk residents have long been waiting for the opening of a new season in their theater. For several months it was closed. People called, and even stopped and questioned the actors on the streets.
“We didn’t immediately become someone else, we lived in a beautiful country - Ukraine. We were united! And they loved the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian culture. What had to happen for us to suddenly hate?” – People’s Artist of Ukraine Natalya Koval tells Kyiv journalists.
Journalists from Podrobnosti emphasize that all performances are sold out. The season premiere is on stage - “Adele”. The audience gives a standing ovation.
“I really liked the performance, the actors are very good, in general, I’m delighted,” says Svetlana, a spectator.
“I like performances in Ukrainian more than in Russian,” says Elena, a spectator.
“The 75th anniversary season has just started - and the “column of wishes” at the Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater on Oboronnaya is already covered with gratitude. And, mainly, in Ukrainian,” the story emphasizes.
