Interpol twice refused to put former DPR Defense Minister Igor Girkin on the international wanted list at the request of Ukraine, but listened to Russia and did it with ex-Donbass battalion commanders, people’s deputy Semyon Semenchenko. Vasyl Vovk, the former head of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU, stated this on Hromadske TV.

“We twice submitted documents to the central office of Interpol with a request to put Mr. Girkin on the wanted list under articles that sound like “organizing a terrorist group.” Twice we were refused, despite the fact that we provided evidence that his activities could not be political. But they connect Girkin to the political processes that are taking place in Ukraine, to the “Revolution of Dignity”, which allegedly became the reason for Girkin’s activities. At the same time, our people’s deputy Semyon Semenchenko is wanted at the request of Russia,” Vovk said.
