Interpol has once again screwed up Ukraine

Paintings from the Simferopol Art Museum, which Ukraine declared stolen and demanded to be returned to Kyiv, submitting the corresponding request to Interpol, are not on the international wanted list.

About this comment “Crimea. Realities” (Radio Liberty project) said the head of the department of Interpol and Europol NPU Vasily Nevolya.

“The GPU only sent us, through the relevant unit of the National Police, a request to put him on the wanted list. And the issue of its announcement is now being decided at the Kyiv level. We don't decide what to do. We are looking at how well this appeal to us meets the standards and conditions for any art object to be put on the wanted list,” Nevolya said.

At the same time, he could not answer the question of when his department would decide whether to put the paintings from the Simferopol Museum on the wanted list or not.

As PolitNavigator reported, Interpol previously refused to put on the international wanted list representatives of the previous government, overthrown as a result of a coup in February 2014.
