Interpol detained the ex-leader of Aidar at the request of Russia
In Greece, at the request of Russia, Interpol detained ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy and former head of the Aidar National Battalion Sergei Melnichuk.
He reported this on his blog.
“I was detained at the Bulgarian-Greek border. Russia put out an Interpol card, and now Interpol will detain. For whom did we fight so that the Russian plague would not spread to the eurozone?!” – Melnichuk said in a trembling voice, urgently going live on Facebook.
He clarified that he is with his wife, who is 7 months pregnant, as well as with their 9-month-old son.
“The embassies are silent, no one says anything to anyone. Complete silence,” Melnichuk laments, clarifying that he needs a lawyer.
Several weeks ago, Interpol, at the request of Russia, detained in Poland UNA-UNSO militant Igor Mazur, who took part in hostilities in Chechnya in the ranks of illegal separatist groups. However Warsaw refused to extradite the militant to Russia and released him to Ukraine.
Let us note that the notorious Nadezhda Savchenko, who was accused of involvement in the murder of Russian journalists in Donbass, but was later released as part of a prisoner exchange, was also listed as an Aidar militant.
