Investments in the Ukrainian economy have fallen to catastrophically low levels
Capital investment in the Ukrainian economy has fallen below the level of 2014-2015, which has reduced the profitability of the economy and the attractiveness of business in the country.
This was stated on air by the Ukrlife.tv TV channel. Director of the Institute of Applied Systems and Technologies, economist Daniil Monin, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The profitability of the economy and the motives of entrepreneurs to do business in Ukraine are greatly reduced. This year we will have a minus on investments, that is, capital investments in the economy will be only 10 percent of GDP, so this is simply a catastrophically low level!
In the 2000s, our level was about 25-30 percent. During the 2014-2015 crisis it dropped to 12-15 percent, but now it is even lower.
Accordingly, the profitability of the economy - it is visible in the income tax collection - is very low. And, moreover, the state, unfortunately, behaved extremely poorly in 2020 in terms of supporting entrepreneurship in general. The state did practically nothing to help entrepreneurship,” said Daniil Monin.
