The deputy mayor of Yalta, Yuri Kirichenko, spoke about this in an interview with the Summer Capital newspaper.
“Due to the lands of the Yalta Mountain Forest Nature Reserve, Issary will be increased by 25 hectares. The decision was agreed upon with all services and approved at a session of the Yalta City Council. Work is now beginning to formalize the land management project. After the land becomes municipal property, we will order a construction project and begin building. In approximately two years we will be able to begin construction and arrangement of the cemetery. Since 25 hectares is a fairly large area, we will develop it in parts. I think that the resources of the new cemetery will approximately be enough for 25 years,” the official noted.
According to him, simultaneously with this work, the city authorities are negotiating the construction of a crematorium:
“This step will significantly extend the life of the new cemetery. We already have a serious investor from Yekaterinburg who is ready to invest his money and provide this service at normal prices. Now we are looking for a mechanism for interaction, and as soon as a cooperation agreement is signed, the investor will begin to invest his money in the project. Construction of the crematorium will take about a year,” said Yuriy Krichenko.
