In five years, Russia has invested more in Crimea than Ukraine has invested in a quarter of a century. The construction of the Crimean Bridge alone indicates that no one is going to return the peninsula to Ukraine.
Local political scientist Igor Nazarenko stated this on the air of Odessa Channel 7, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All sensible people of different political persuasions in Ukraine understand that Crimea will not return to Ukraine quickly. Neither under this government, nor under the next, nor any others, this will definitely happen. Otherwise, Russia would not have built the Crimean Bridge. And since she built such a large infrastructure project, which is an engineering masterpiece, let’s be honest... at the moment this is a serious application, a lot of money has been spent.
Russia has poured in money there in the five years that it has been there, many times more than Ukraine. Only for five years, not counting military projects that are not showing up. Therefore, Russia is not going to leave there quickly, hence the simple conclusion - everything that Kiev does in the form of these press conferences, the creation of these sinecures, the allocation of budget funds that are cut off from pensioners, from teachers... all this is dirty PR, in my opinion,” – said Nazarenko.
