“Fucked up”: Klimkin again screwed up with a statement on Crimea
Ukraine will ensure that Russian presidential elections are held in Russian consulates on its territory only if Moscow cancels the election campaign in Crimea, since Kyiv considers the peninsula its “occupied” territory.
This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, adding that Kyiv will seek to include in the sanctions lists all those involved in organizing the elections in Crimea.

Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Mishin considers Klimkin’s position absurd.
“Well, where is the logic? After all, Donbass, according to patriotic Ukrainian media reports, supports Sobchak, and Crimea supports Grudinin. Given Putin’s extremely low rating, according to the same media reports, the participation of Donbass and Crimea in this vote will lead to the arrival of pro-Ukrainian forces in the Kremlin.
In addition, it would be stupid not to organize a blockade (throwing stones and Molotov cocktails) at S-14 and OUN polling stations in Ukraine for the Russian presidential elections. This mobilizes Ukrainian society and shows the world community our irreconcilable position towards aggressors.
But Klimkin’s warning that the ministry will seek punishment for everyone involved in the elections in Crimea is simply a stupid attack on democracy and the legal rights of Ukrainian political strategists who wanted the votes in Crimea cast for Putin to be considered support for Poroshenko.
I think the governor of Transcarpathia, Gennady Moskal, is right: “There are too many idiots in the Cabinet,” Mishin writes in his blog.
