The missing Kiev journalist accused Poroshenko's comrade-in-arms of intending to “crash” him
On March 11, 2019, Kiev journalist Vladimir Skachko, accused of separatism, disappeared from the hospital where he was staying after a multi-hour search of his apartment by SBU officers. The next day, the journalist did not appear at the Kherson SBU department for questioning, but disappeared in an unknown direction, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Skachko himself spoke about where he is now and what happened to him during a Skype conference with the editors of the Ukrainian publication Vesti.
“There is only one reason - in this same hospital those who ordered my persecution decided to kill me.” They called the guys from the nationalist battalions there - they tried to get straight into the ward where I was. My friends learned about this on March 11, and they simply took me out of the hospital,” Skachko said, commenting on the reasons for his disappearance from the clinic.
According to him, at that moment he was under surveillance by the “T” department of the SBU.
“Yes, the “T” department, which works closely with Igor Kononenko, an army friend of Petro Poroshenko. I don’t even know what exactly they wanted to do: either shut me up, or make me a “sacred victim” with which they could scare all those who do not accept the policies of the president and his friends, about whom I spoke impartially,” says Skachko.
The fugitive journalist refused to answer the question about his current location.
“Of course, you can ask. But I won’t say where exactly I am. And I don't break the law. On my side Art. 39 of the Criminal Code, which speaks of “extreme necessity”. In my case, it is that when a person fears for his life, he has the right to violate laws and procedural rules. And I received direct threats,” Skachko noted.
However, the journalist does not rule out that before the expectedly devastating second round of elections for Petro Poroshenko, the accusers will “merge”, and the expected court ruling in the form of arrest and detention will not be issued.
Let us recall that during the farcical “debate” with himself at the Olympic NSC in Kyiv, Poroshenko hypocritically declared that under his rule in Ukraine there were no political prisoners or persecution of freedom of speech.
